2003 Mission Trip

it was exciting to pack and leave Keene
of course there was always waiting at the airport
getting supplies in Santo Domingo

arrival for the main group was late at night
the group stayed at the Catholic Center in Cabral
arriving at the Center
sleeping arrangements were spartan but clean
garden at the Catholic Center was a restful quiet place
the garden
worship and planning sessions were vital to the success of each day
good food makes for happy campers!

evangelistic meetings were held at the the church in Cabral
the church was small, but the spirit of God was there

it can be a bit scary when you are little!

the end of a long but rewarding day
even if the water is not so clean, a bath is so important
a good soaping feels so good

a great job for all that worked so hard

the church still needs our support -- this year funds were available to put on a roof!

sightseeing
there are plenty of historical sites to experience
the fortress once protected the harbor and city of Santo Domingo
the old palace
Sabbath worship on the beach was something to look forward to
the Botanical Garden is a delight
the tram is a great way to see the whole garden
why is a garden so peaceful?
at the Botanical Garden
caves are always interesting
interesting structures in the dark
waiting for the rest of the group
getting your hair braided is a tradition
on the way home!
